This winter, like everyother the sea froze. The Helsinki city cleaned a 20m wide 5km long ice skating circuit out to sea , round an island and back to shore. The ice will reach a thickness of 4-7m. The city also clears roads on the ice to allow cars to make short cuts across harbours and bays..!

The wife, kids and I spent many a long sunny Saturday morning wasting energy and loving the surroundings... ice as far as the eye can see!
