the single issue

I'm in the midst of reading "the single issue," by Al Hsu and must say I'm finding it to be a very empowering read.  Almost every girl I chat to at HTB seems to be talking about 'wanting a boyfriend', 'wanting to get married', 'who's it going to be', 'why God won't send their husband to them right now' etc etc etc and I would be telling a terrible fib, if I were to say that none of these thoughts had ever crossed my mind.  However, I really would encourage anyone who's had any of these thoughts to take a look at 'the single issue'.
I know I'm not known for being particularly loud or opinionated, but I almost want to crash the stage at HTB on a Sunday night and tell all the single girls that if you're lonely now, getting married isn't going to change that, there are plenty of very lonely married people who are stuck with that person for the rest of their lives!
That's so true! I realised yesterday that I really don't even have time for a man in my life! I'm far too busy with my job and a zillion other things to dedicate time to building and investing in a romantic relationship. I think God wants me to be single for some time! Nevertheless, like most normal people, I of course often feel lonely and have waves of self pity that I've not yet found my life-long partner, however, I believe that we need to enjoy our single life and use the time wisely rather than wasting it away. Read Bekah's blog for her excellent talk on waiting.

Thanks Victoria for your encouragement!
Well you know me full of encouraging words of wisdom!!
the boys watch the girls who watch the boys who watch the blah blah blah ...

excuse me for commenting on girls issues pages but happened to be passing through. I just think that we all at HTB could be a lot more chilled about the whole bf/gf thing. it seems as tho there is so much pressure to 'get' a gf/bf, we should take more time to be friends with one another so we can actually form educated opinions. i agree with everything said above and so many ppl are blogging about this, quite funny really. see also www.aboutlife.com/superherojosh/england_steals_my_mojo
