Florida Revival

Anyone been watching the Florida Revival on God tv?  Normally I don't enjoy God tv at all  - but what is being televised in Florida is pretty cool.  I love that God seems to be moving in a place that is stripped back with just raw passion and no fuss.  Kris and I watched it last night and were really excited to see God moving and healing children, old people, and terminal illnesses.  Stay tuned - looks like God is on the move....Lets just pray that our Churches become filled with people who just want to meet with Jesus and nothing else.  I love the thought of the Church radically stripping everything back and giving God the platform to shake things up.
arrived in florida last night, walked into the sunday service at ignite church this morning and a guy walks up and asks: "are you a musician? i can sense the anointing on you!" tee hee
IT IS AN AMAZING MOVE OF GOD. LET THE FIRE FALL!!!
So right now at this time, I've been googling trying to find the God tv website and in typing 'god tv florida' in the google uk browser, I was very pleased to see this post from aboutlife a few lines down!  So I'm happy to see comments from my friends Michael and John and leave a comment myself. (Michael you're in Florida - Awesome!!)
So yes, I'd like to say that I have been watching God tv now and again from about four weeks ago (I don't have it myself - yes I realise its on the website though!).  At first I regrettably thought little of it, but 20 days from when it first started, watching at my girlfriend's who has sky, it then really struck me that this was proper revival and seeing so many healings! It was so exciting to have a lady from HTB who'd been to Florida and had been healed of 30 years of partial deafness, come back and talk to us at the 6pm service.  The truth of following our Lord and obeying Him however mad it may feel, like praying for someone in a wheelchair in a shop etc.  And of course its not all just about the miracles there in Florida (as someone who'd also been there was saying in the morning service at a church I went to in Chiswick).  Just such a strong presence of the Lord God, Jesus, Holy Spirit.  I know I need to press into Him with my all and abandon myself to Him fully!  It's exciting what He is upto, Praise the Lord.
that is so cool!  what a great time to be in Church and seeing something happen!

Very interested to hear more about this. Have been reading about it. Trying to be objective in all the hype.

Found Terry Virgo (NFI) very constructive and helpful on it.

Download the comments he made here.

Here is what I know - that some will be objective and cautious. But people getting healed emotionally, physically and spiritually is better than nothing.  For a long time people have had a thirst for something more in Church life - if this is all fake then at least something good came of it - people were healed from some pretty crazy stuff and some raised from death.  I am sure those people would not be using this as a time to be objective but praiseful.  Perhaps rather than focusing on the objects we should focus on Praise for what has been done for those desperate people who needed a miracle...
I must be misunderstanding what you wrote. You're not saying that the truth doesn't matter, and that what really matters is that it looks like healing because people praise God? Is that what you said? You'd sacrifice truth on the altar of signs and wonders, even though we're told about those who will come and perform signs and wonders and they will not be of God? You just can't be saying that. I must have misunderstood.

What did you think of Virgo's take? He's not scared of the Holy Spirit doing something new, but he is also a good practical theologian. What do you make of his view?
Believe me I am not walking around the streets shouting Florida Revival from the rooftops, but simply in my own home and life being excited about a spiritual revival that could happen.
Were you at the prayer ministry training last night ULB?
no - what happened?????
