Recently michael guglielmucci has confessed to having lied about having cancer. For those of you who don't know him, he is an Australian Pastor who wrote a song called "healer".
It was very successful in the Church and the Australian charts. His father is a prominent Christian in Australia also. Many people were moved by his story of being diagnosed with terminal cancer to the point of giving money. In the last few days he has been interviewed by a prime news channel in Australia to say that the reason for his fraud was due to a long life of pornography addiction.

So last night I watched Coldplay live on the BBC. As I watched Chris Martin deliver his vocal it struck me how he always seems to struggle to reach the right notes. There was a momment when Coldplay sang "yellow". He started the song in a low register, which is not his strength. You could see the struggle that he had in each song in this way before he eventually worked his way back to where his voice was most comfortable, in the higher register. I know nothing about music by the way so please ignore my musical lingo. But when he hit the high notes and sang with passion and frustration to get it right, it was pure gold. I have another friend who does this when he preaches. It is a frustrating thing to sit through, to watch him wrestle with his points and struggle to get the right point across, but in the end he always brings it home strong and delivers the most holy spirit annointed message that can totally change your outlook on life.

Revival in England

Tonight yet again I watched the Florida Revival going on. As I listened to Todd Bentley I understood why God would lead him into Revival. He talked about his love of Jesus but talked about the religiousness that has invaded the Church. He used a great scripture that I have never heard before - dont know why! It said " it is inevitable that offences will come, but woe to him through who offenses come". In other words dont be the one to carry offense or hurt. The fact that Jesus warned us of this gives me great comfort that he knew that man and Church would grieve people.

Florida Revival

Anyone been watching the Florida Revival on God tv? Normally I don't enjoy God tv at all - but what is being televised in Florida is pretty cool. I love that God seems to be moving in a place that is stripped back with just raw passion and no fuss. Kris and I watched it last night and were really excited to see God moving and healing children, old people, and terminal illnesses. Stay tuned - looks like God is on the move....Lets just pray that our Churches become filled with people who just want to meet with Jesus and nothing else. I love the thought of the Church radically stripping everything back and giving God the platform to shake things up.

Man Crunched On Motorbike

The Year Of Living Biblically

So I have started to read this book "The year of living biblically". I have to say that it has been a really great read so far. I guess you have to approach it with an open mind but it is great stuff. This is a journalist that decides to live his life by the bible literally for one year. Each chapter is based on a verse and he keeps things really relatable. My favourite bit so far is when he stoned an an old man in a park that confessed to being an adulterer- which then resulted in a nasty spat. The thing I have found the most helpful is the way he sums up different faiths and what they believe in a really simple way. I havent got to the end yet so please dont kill me if it all goes pear shaped, but I am pretty sure that you would love to read it if you like straight forward yet honest testimonies written by those who havent figured it all out yet.

So lately I have had a period of thinking through decisions that I have made in the past and how they affected others around me. Could I have done things better - you bet. Would I change some things that I regret - yes yes yes.

When I have asked this question of some Christians that I know "If you could change anything in your past so far - what would it be?". A popular answer has been "No I absolutely wouldnt change a thing - I have no regrets". This to me comes across as a really poor way of thinking. It gives no room for human error and makes us out to be infallible. Another common Christian misbelief.

So after feeling pretty flat about my family stuff, I get a call saying that my little bro had been in a pretty bad car accident and written his car off. He got out of the car with a broken thumb and a bruised collar bone to see a car that had crumpled around him leaving just the compartment where he was sitting still intact. He had hit a tree front on after turning his car onto a gravelled road. Since leaving Australia after being his carer I constantly pray for Gods protection on my little bro and sis. This stuff restores me and reminds me that God is in control through the good and the not so good.

Feeling flat
