too 'christian' to have a good ol' RANT (shame!!)

i know it's better in the long run...and wiser to 'tame the tongue'...but sometimes i just wanna have a massive rant

it could be an awkward/rude person on the phone, a 'reality tv' show, Jose Mourinho, the Daily Mail (or any other trashy newspaper where you have to turn to p.17 before you get past the 'paper' to any 'news' about anything significant that's going on in the world instead of the endless 'celebrity' gossip) or even a particularly annoying/provocative/naive/'un-grace-full' blog post...don't worry, most of you are great bloggers!

i usually imagine what Basil Fawlty or Blackadder would say to the person; then i chuckle inside (and sometimes outside too; and then say something horribly nice instead (grrrrr!)...i think it is the right thing to do acutally - JC never shouted someone into the kingdom...and you nearly always feel bad afterwards and say things you regret...

my mum always used to say (because her dad said it to her) that "if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't" and also, "if you do have something nice to say, then you must say it!"

those are very, very, VERY good rules (especially saying the positive stuff - we don't do it enough)...but can be very frustrating when you just wanna get a good rant off your chest when someone has been 'gold-medal-winningly-stupid' - i guess it's like ulittlebeauty's great post about when it's okay to punch people...i wish i had tourettes(!)

have you ever seen the TV show 'grumpy old men'?

if you had one thing you wanted to rant about and get off your chest now, what would it be? (but lets try not to be personal - unless it's Jose Mourinho, in which case it's open season!)

you asked for it .......
Do I get to give marks out of 10?
