I know the word Facebook offends some of you here - but i unashamedly think it's fantastic...and not least, in fact perhaps most, because if this is what is made possible, then... 'Glory'.

If you're not signed up to Facebook yet, you may not be able to follow that link, so here's what it's about...
Basically some guy has started a 'Group', but unlike a lot of the frivilous groups on Facebook like, 'If 1,000 people sign up to this group i'll eat my boxer shorts', or 'Badger appreciation society' (both, made up titles - though, i'd love to know more about Badgers...another day, another post!)

....Anyway, this group's purpose is to raise money for the fantastic charity, Compassion (check out their website if you wanna know more about what they do). The REALLY SIMPLE BUT BRILLIANT idea is to get people to sign up to the group on the proviso/challenge that if (and it's gonna be when) the membership exceeds 5,000, each member commits to donating £10 to Compassion.

Yeah....do the math, this simple example of positive people power effortlessly raises £50,000 for underpriviledged children in some of the most desperate places in the world. Those £10, and every penny of that £50,000+ WILL CHANGE LIVES.

And for every one of those changed lives, think of those future lives that will be influenced as a result...no, take a second, really, THINK...their kids now having parents that have an education, maybe a faith and being able to provide for them...them knowing that someone, somewhere (and being able to name them) LOVES them...and all because Jesus loves them...the potential good done is mindboggling.

If we all took this kind of purposeful, pro-active, 'we can change the world' attitude and planted in our lives then the potential becomes incalcuable...

So...let this inspire you as it has me, it's so simple, but it reminds us all that we can do something amazing.

(even me...maybe...probably...perhaps...hmmmm!)
