if i don't go to Fluid, Liverpool will lose

Friends...I am torn.

For those of you who don't understand football, you might as well stop reading now and preserve any good opinion you might have of me.

For those of you who are familiar with the cream of life...
Liverpool have quite a big match on Tuesday evening. And the atmosphere for matches like these at Anfield is second to none and nowhere. But i can't watch it.

It is also Fluid on Tues evening (the Students ministry here at HTB). The first one of term and i really should go to that... and this is where the title to this post comes into play. However theologically discreditible it might be, i have a gut feeling that if i were to miss Students for the sake of football, we would definitely lose. Whilst if i am 'faithful' and go to Students, then God might choose to honour that and give us the victory(!)

Absurd i guess, especially if you don't share my passion for the beautiful game, but does anyone understand? Michael Emmett (those of u at HTB will know who i mean), who is going up to the game (Chelsea fan), said he reckons i'm right - i.e. if i were to skive Students then we'd definitely lose (tho he thinks they'll get a possibly crucial 'away goal' anyway).

So, i guess my decision is made, but i still can't believe i'm going to miss SUCH a HUGE game...

And i also can't believe that after more than five months without blogging, that this is what finally breaks the silence...i am ashamed.

COME ON LIVERPOOL

watch the football
definitely what kris said. couldn't you make a big card board cut-out of yourself to be with the students, and leave them a video message for the nite? personally, as a student i'd rather the leader of my pastorate/home-group equivalent to Fluid was watchin' their favourite team win or lose one of the biggest matches of the year ... i'd be gutted for them if they missed it.

good luck tomorrow! hope it all turns out hunky dory for the red team :)
actually, way better ... just go set up fluid and then leave 'em a big box of krispy kremes, they'll pass out from the sugar wave and won't even remember your absence. liverpool aren't gonna lose.
You only should go if God calls you to. Otherwise you are a free man.*

*Of course you always have free will but it's assumed that as a Christian you may have a tendancy to do as God wishes.
It might be a little unusual to say, "Yea. That fireball around the Liverpool match... that was my mate Mike being smote by God."
and you are being considered for ordination??!  Tuffers me ol' mate, you know what the brides would do...
Fluid dude.

But if you go to the game, I bet you'll spend most of it praying anyway ;)
I say.....go to Fluid and set up a big screen of the game for all the students to watch, or have Fluid in a pub and watch the game!
Could you hire a Mike Tufnell impersonator from a lookalike agency and then send him to Fluid?
hahahahahaha!!!
