Tim James - Worship PastorJuly 14, 2007 - 5:26pm | email this page
Dear All
I'm pleased to announce that I have accepted a part-time position on the Staff Team of St.Barnabas, Kensington in London as their new Worship Pastor. I have been exploring for the past 18 months if God has been calling me to this ministry...and he has! I will commence my new post on 1st September 2007. I will still be doing a small amount of nursing (5 days/shifts) per month. read more | 2 comments | 171 reads
Worship the Lord!March 16, 2007 - 5:54pm | email this page
Romans Chapter 12, verse 1 reads: "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in views of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spritual act of worship".Something that is very dear to my heart, but also to the core heart of every Christian is to worship the Lord (our God) not just in the songs we sing at Church, but also in how we live our daily lives. You see, anyone can sing a song of praise and adoration to God. But can you sing the song of praise by how you live your life? What I mean, or what God means is, can you honour God when somebody is shouting at you, or when your child has just scribbled over your new wallpaper or when you didn't get that new job you really wanted? In these times, will you turn back to God, honour him and proclaim that he is Lord and your provider over these kinds of situations? This is what true worship is. But one aspect of worship is where we meet to praise God individually, and corporately (with other Christians) to spur one another on and to meet with our Father God in intimacy through song. Our God is a relational God who loves to meet with his loved ones: You and me! As a worship leader I've heard God's calling to be a Christian leader who brings his people to meet with him through sung worship week in and week out. This is why I'm passionate about sung worship and why we need our worship to be "real" in church but also in our daily lives. By being "real" this means that we praise God and we also come to God with our times when we don't feel like rejoicing. Our God knows each of us, and he knows what it is like to live on this earth too. That's why we come to him, because he's our dad. He loves us and for all that he has done...he is surely worthy of all our praise?...Amen! (N.B - this is not a sermon, but just a thought of mine for today!). Just to let you know that I was successful at interview for my band 6 (Senior Staff Nurse) post a little while ago. It's taken me a few weeks to getting around to updating this blog! My area of work has not changed, and I remain working on PICU at the Evelina Children's Hospital, but as a band 6. Thanks to those who prayed and supported me for the application. :-)

Why Jamiroquai?January 11, 2007 - 11:07pm | email this page
Good Question!
Basically, all the little images of books, movies, music and magazines which influence or have influenced my life in some way are listed on the right hand side of this blog. For example: Jamiroquai. Why? I here you ask! Well, I got into Jamiroquai when I was about 11 or 12 years of age. My brother Stephen was 'well' into Jamiroquai and I often had to listen to the same music as we shared a bedroom as kids. So I ended up being a fan of the music and I have to admit, it's one of the good influences my brother had on me. It's good music and there's nothing else quite like it. Tim's Way Vs Howard's WayJanuary 11, 2007 - 3:51pm | email this page
Do you remember it? Of course you do! That cheesy 1980's drama that you all watched and loved. Howard's Way, which brought the lifestyle of the upper middle class into our family living rooms. With their coffee perculators (no tea there!), red and white stripped wallpaper, women becoming business-like and of course they all owned a boat. The most famous one being the 'Barracuda' of course!Down the Ocean RoadJanuary 1, 2007 - 10:22pm | email this page
I recently drove down the Great Ocean Road in the state of Victoria, Australia, near to Melbourne. This is an amazing part of the world and I thoroughly recommend you visiting too. Take a look at some of my other photo's from my ozzie trip in December 2006. Goto the LINKS section on this blog and click on 'Tim James Australia Photos 2006'. Take care. Tjx |
