Winter. Fog: Thick white fog while driving home last night. I live in the middle of nowhere - well hey, I am a prophet - I'm just trying to get with the programme here! So I drove through dark country lanes, blanketed in frost and thick fog. It was quite fun, except that at times, I could barely see three yards beyond the hood, of the Prophet Mobile. I had to follow the white lines in the center of the road - and often I could only make out the next one or two.
Sometimes God does not show us the destination, or even the road, stretching out for miles ahead into the distance. Sometimes we only see the next couple of steps, and He asks us to walk by faith, not by sight. So we move forwards, one step at a time, with Him revealing the next step each time.
When I have the courage, these can be blessed times: I am forced to walk with the Lord, my hand in his; my weakness in his strength. Sometimes it is good when we have to rely on him, rather than, 'leaning unto our own understanding.'
Genesis 12:1 The Lord said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you."
God told Abram to go, but did not tell him the final destination. The destination was 'the land I will show you.' - i.e. it would become clear at some stage in the future, but for now, he would only see the next step ahead.
Have a great Christmas, and remember - do not drink and prophecy!
