The Global Chinese Alpha ConferenceApril 18, 2007 - 11:16am | email this page
Last Tuesday and Wednesday 1700 people gathered at the HITEC in Kowloon bay, Hong Kong, for the Global Chinese Alpha Conference.
Speakers included Nicky Gumbel, Paul Cowley and Jamie Haith, with worship being led by Tim Hughes and a local worship team. ![]() The venue was packed. We even had to use an overflow room (3 floors up) I was there to production manage the conference. There was a lot to do. It was an empty exhibition centre so i had to arrange a production company to look after all the sound, lighting and the video. Thankfully a few locals were clued up and put me in contact with good companies. But what and amazing local team lead by Hannah Miller. But putting aside the production it was an amazing conference. a few highlights: 1) watching the name game alpha ice breaker .. chinese names just don't work. what is the 1st letter of your name? 2) hearing people worship in their own language was something words can't describe. 3) watching and praying for people so desperate for God and for more of his holy spirit.. the ministry was amazing. God was working so powerfully in peoples lives. 4) Hearing testimony of peoples lives being changes. Mums who were taking their 3 year old kids with them to gamble and now their lives are transformed. Praise God. Other events at the conference included: Prisons training evening and prisons day. Tim Hughes and Planet Shakers Concerts ![]() Youth Alpha Training Day led by Jules Evans ![]() ![]() But put all that aside. It still blows my mind that God is the same in Hong Kong as he is London. The ministry was still as powerful. Lives are being changed by the holy spirit. techy's blog | report this page | 489 reads
