hello and welcome!

hello and welcome!

my name is max. at the moment i'm 19 and a student studying french and spanish at cardiff university. you might call me a christian.

i already write a diary, so this is not going to be that much about my life. i intend to basically use it as a notebook of ideas i have about stuff i read in the bible.

if you for some reason think i might say something interesting that you might like to read, i suggest you get one of these. if you haven't heard of it it's the best-selling book in the world ever, so shouldn't be too hard to get hold of.

why believe the bible?

i'm going to do a few posts about the bible itself. a 'series' maybe even.

before i do that i'm going to explain something. what evidence is there to support the bible? and why do I personally believe the bible?

I'm actually not going to talk about the first one, because although there does seem to be a load of historical evidence in favour of the bible, it's not the actual REASON i believe the bible.

why are some healed and not others?

this is a question that i asked myself as I read Luke 7:11-17, which is about Jesus raising someone from the dead.

i often look to the bible for answers, and facts. i sometimes find it more helpful to look at it slightly differently though.

they call it the "Word of God", which basically means it's God's communication to us. so i thought a bit about what it's saying, not just the facts it's informing us of.

too right

'If two men are fighting and one man's wife comes to save her husband from his attacker, grabbing the attacker by his sex organs, you must cut off her hand. Show her no mercy.' (deuteronomy 25:11-12)

what kind of king?

Hi. i'm going through a period where i'm thinking lots and lots. it's quite late and I just wrote this, it's called what kind of king:

all about revision

Ironically this is going to be about how you should go back to revision and stop reading my blog. There you go, terrible writing technique giving away the end, but hey ho I may as well save you some time.

It’s also going to be about my own attitude towards revision, and my degree in general. I don’t know if reading this will help, but I guess it gives a break from all those hours of facebook.

sweet as honey

if you are wondering about the title of the page, sweet as honey, this comes from the bible. if you want you can turn, if you have one, to the book of revelation and chapter 10. if you don't just go to www.biblegateway.com and type revelation 10 in the box.

from my understanding this is a guy who calls himself john describing a vision he had. the dudes who lived shortly after Jesus died thought that what he wrote was so ace it should go at the end of the bible.
