The perks of being tall...

hmmm...all I get asked to do is reach stuff off the top shelf!  Boring...check out what he gets to do!The perks of being tall...The world's tallest man has saved two dolphins by using his long arms(1.06m) to reach into their stomachs and pull out dangerous plastic shards. Mongolian herdsman Bao Xishun was called in after the dolphins swallowed plastic used around their pool at an aquarium in Fushun, north-east China. Guinness World Records list Mr Bao, 54, as the world's tallest living man at 2.36m (7ft 8.95in).

SOUTH AFRICA - POST TRIP THOUGHTS...

So... after a 12 hour-ish trip from the north end of the world to the south, we quickly got out of the rush of Jo-burg and were greated with mile after mile of shanty towns... Apparently there are so many immigrants arriving in South Africa, and particularly Jo-burg, every day that new 'towns' are going up every couple of weeks...

SOUTH AFRICA - POST TRIP THOUGHTS...The wide open, flat space and dryness reminded me a lot of some of the Canadian prairies... And although the weather in these pictures looks beautiful and warm, I would like to dispel the common myth that 'cold' and 'africa' are not two words that can appear in the same sentence (just like 'hot' and 'Canada' aren't!)...the nights were FREEZING - sub zero (yes, i can hear all the south africans laughing at my ignorance now...:-))

PASSWORDS...

Just a little winge time here....but what is the deal with passwords!  Every little thing we want to do, and even don't want to do, these days requires a password!  and of course, you're not suppose to use the same password for everything because then if some clever person discovers it, your life is over!  so instead, i try to make up a different one for each thing, end up forgetting which is for what, and can't access anything for myself anyway!  howww annoying -or maybe it's just me!

Keeping it simple...

I am constantly needing to remind myself that God loves me more than anything I actually achieve.  Why this is so hard, and I must continually go back to it again and again I don't know. But I was reading 1 Kings 19 this week and it reminded me of this again.

Basically Elijah flees from persecution and probable death - exhausted and hopeless he just wants to die!  At the end of the chapter God does send him back to this same scenario, but two very important things have happened - and they're not super-spiritual, miraculous things either, they're basic things that we can all listen to God and do in our lives and the lives of others when we, or they, feel worn out and frustrated.

Models in the Making...

Check out http://www.wycliffe.ox.ac.uk/info/ shop.html for some HTB content, past and present...(hint:  cap, tie, fleece, polo shirt)...hee hee

TAGGED...Who made up these questions anyway...

4 JOBS I'VE HAD
1.  rowing coach (and not one of my crews flipped their boats)
2.  receptionist at various YMCAs...(yeah, free gym membership)
3.  temping in the Mayor of London's office (when i first moved to the UK, didn't even know who the mayor was and chatted to him several times b4 realising - he was more friendly than the rest of his staff)

Tetris Torture...

So I woke up during the middle of last night, and for some reason decided this was a great time to check out some of the features on the 'new' phone i've had for about 3 months...am getting there, slowly, (will totally have it sorted by the time i'm due an upgrade)...anyway, so i thought i'd see what games it has...unfortunately for me it has a Tetris Torture...tetris style game, and i think i played it for at least the next hour...just have to get one better than my last highest score...just have to get to the next level...duh, it's the middle of the night!  what is it with doing the most random things in the middle of the night...things that seem so important, but when i wake up in the morning are, obviously, the biggest waste of time!
