"Things we were too thick never to have considered before"

Last night we had a wonderful discussion about the Trinity (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) focusing around Archie's talk and the discussion questions set for it.

Kebab Shop Peace?

Kebab Shop Peace?Yesterday Aurel and I had an amazing conversation with five wonderful guys who run our Kebab Shop.  They're from Iraq.  They were asking about our prayer meetings and what we do in the church.  Fairly quickly, we got to talking about how we pray for people from around the world and especially Iraq.

Waiting

‘Be still before the presence of the Lord and wait patiently for him to act.’ Psalm 37:7 (NLT)

We live in a society that considers waiting to be a bad thing.  We have fast food, credit cards that let you ‘buy now and pay later’ and diets that promise instant results.  Our society says that having things instantly is our right.

Pastorate prayers!

Well last night was the first night of a new pastorate term. summer is on its way and we are mostly full of the joys of spring (I hope).

I thought i might begin the term in our new blogging home with some encouragement, both on the subject of prayer and maybe even for you all to begin to blog!

As many of you know the main point of prayer last night was to pray outloud for any one we know who we would like to see on the next Alpha course, to come to church or even to just begin to ask a few questions. most of us knew someone and prayed for them then.
