Hug Man - come to London!

LOOKING FOR A NEW JOB?
THEN MAYBE YOU CAN BECOME A HUG EMBASSADOR FOR LONDON ......

This article made me rather 'dewy eyed' I have to admit because being a singleton it can be a long time inbetween hugs and I think he sounds a 'jolly good hugger' - must be the purple coat thing?
If your memory's jogged - pray!

On Saturday afternoon as I was cleaning my kitchen I was reminded out of the blue of a 'friend of a friend' (Let's call him Bob)

I've not seen him for a few years . . . it was weird to think of him after all that time but he literally just 'popped in to my head'.

That evening I saw the 'friend of Bob' who I do know at a party and enquired after him . . . he looked shocked and said 'it's so weird you should ask that he's just been through the most AWFUL 24 hours' and proceeded to tell me more details about the terrible time Bob had been through.

Thank you for David Bayley....

WHAT A WEEK! It's been a tiring one and quite frankly I can't wait til the Easter break . . . .

A rollercoaster emotions started for me last Friday when I received a text from my Mum (who's currently writing a book in the middle of nowhere in Uganda where she runs a charity).

The text informed us all to pray for one of our elders, David, from our church 'back home' (in Macclesfield, Cheshire). He had suffered two heart attacks out of the blue and was not in a good way.

GUILTY PHONE CHARGING...

I'm rubbish at 'doing my bit for the environment' although I'm trying to get a little better - I read something at the weekend that I'd not known before . . .

That leaving my phone charger plugged in is emitting C0two (couldn't do the little 2 sign there on my computer)

http://www.cred-uk.org/
CentralContent.aspx?intCID=5

Here's what it says on the site above:
A mobile phone charger if left plugged in when not charging will be responsible for between 35 to 70kg C02 over the year. Always unplug the mobile phone charger when not in use. Feel it, the warmth is caused by the constant consumption of electricity.

Save Borough Market....

I must admit I'm very busy at work today (got a pitch on) so I've just copied and pasted this email that I've had sent to me for those of you who might be interested to sign. Thanks S

To those of you who know London... Please have a look at the following... And maybe sign petition....

Borough market is London's oldest market. It was established on the south bank of the Thames when the Romans build the first London Bridge and people have been trading on this site for over 2000 years. it's a beautiful undercover food market and a truly wonderful part of London's history

Flickr versus _____ ???

Now being the proud owner of a smashing digital camera - I'd like to know if there's a freebie uploading site that you can recommend for uploading and sharing my photos with my mates?

I've been on flickr but now I have to pay to put them in sets and annoyingly it's in dollars - which I'm confused by.

Thank you
30th PRESENT ADVISE PLEASE....

Need some inspiration please . . .

I've got my cousin's 30th this weekend and I've NO IDEA what to buy him.

He's in the RAF - a paracute instructor with a love of the great outdoors and sports of many kinds.

It's also his wifes 30th too within a week of his and they're having a joint party on Saturday. (She's not in the RAF but does love sports too).

So if any of you who've turned 30 recently or had great Christmas pressies could offer any tips as to what you've had that were 'great presents' can advise me I'd be very grateful

Share your travel tips with the world....

I arrived at work this morning to an email from a guy in our interactive department (web to you and me). It's about a new site the Times newspaper are doing - it might be a great place for all your travellers to put your 'top tips' on. . . So here's Phil's group email to explain further:

"Hi all,
ÂÂ
No this is not a call for you to help boost our global population numbers but rather a request from our client at The Times.

Another Happy New Year....

Happy New Year one and all - I hope you all had a great time like I did.

I must admit it was one of the best for a long time. I often enjoy Christmas with the family although I can often get a little stressed out too and have had bouts of my depression reoccuring at Christmas time so that can be tough to subdue. This year thankfully I was in good form and was able to handle myself and chill out with the family. It did help because I was in Devon which was just perfect, in my Uncles big house overlooking the hills and surrounded with wildlife (even a woodpecker making daily visits to the birdfeeder) so it was a perfect place to relax from the busyness of London life.

I need a friendly stranger!

After sitting on my front doorstep for an hour on Saturday night from 1am til 2am (I'd left my door keys in my room) I wish I knew my neighbours and could trust them with a spare doorkey like we all do where I'm from 'up north'.

So in light of this I found this article really interesting:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/
6176235.stm

- by the way I was let in when my housemate got a call at 2am and got up to go to the loo! Hooray for crazy late night calls.
