Human Relationships.

Recently, without searching, I found it easy to draw a parallel between them and the relationship that exists between a horse and rider:

The way you hold the reins - thats it ....just hold, with nothing but weight of the rein in your hands - to the the hold on which you have on one another. No clenched fists and tight hand, just a gentle maintained yet relaxed tension. Each submitting to anothers others will.

The body of the relationship I find akin to the whole horse and rider combo ...Communication through not solely through the reins, as with beginners, but through every muscle..  through your legs.. your seat.. your heart. Movement is asked or suggested and agreed by both parties with neither the rider nor horse truly owning the resulting movement. The whole thing controlled and yet flowing.

Hurdles in life are represented by a atificial showjumping fences. Rounding the corner, both horse and rider are watching...   waiting..   anticipating... adjusting stride, tempo, speed. Every ounce of both bodies communicating the unseen nuances of adjustments.

Then the fence is upon them and they jump. For the seconds they are airborne, they're largely dependent on each other and neither can do anything but trust.
Just have Faith and Be Still. The ground is coming.

And The landing...
On good days its with all four feet on the ground, moving forward with the same momentum that carried you over the fence in the first place
Other days it's all in heap
Sometimes you don't even make it over, at all.

But you never give up - You learn the lessons; You try again - A different angle, a different approach, a different speed.  Because you know with a good combination, all it takes is practise....

And Patience.
