The Winter Tree...

The trees were bare…devoid of leaf
Straggly and stark…in bold relief
Lackluster limbs against the sky
That winters day

But though gay dresses had been lost
Replaced…by borrowed gowns of frost
Due to their trappings..blown off…tossed
I saw beyond

To where a cyclopean eye
Of burnished bronze lit up the sky
And lingering darkness…challenged thus
Was forced to fly

And beauty placed on mountain slope
Her golden diadem of hope
Transformed my thought..from bleak to blessed
Because I saw

That I a winter tree must be
Void of superficiality
That others…when they look at me
See through
To where… the Son-rise glows
And worship You

Yay! You made the front page!  Great to hear your poems again.
Thanks a lot Brian. I'm in the throes of getting a book of my poems published but it will take three to four months I think. Every Blessing. Raym
