....was the opening line of the newspaper announcement at my birth. I wasn’t meant to be here. My mother was told that she would never have children - despite visiting every doctor around including the one that would go on to create the first test tube baby. I like it. It implies a certain defiance and victory.

Woo! You got a newspaper announcement! I think my parents were involved praying for your mum to conceive. There's a story in my musty memory which says your parents drove to my parents' house, and your dad stayed out in the car because he wouldn't 'set foot in that house' (oh how far we've come!) while your mum went inside for prayer! Hilarious!
