A note on the title

"A freak show takes the stage" - a lyric from one of the best songs by one of my favorite bands - Third Eye Blind. But that's just where it comes from, what it means is something else entirely.

What's on the film?

What's on the film?

I finished a roll of film in my camera today - snow doesn't hang around too long in London so I thought I'd immortalise the scene to keep me going until next winter.

The thing is, I can't remember what else is on the film. To make matters worse - or more interesting - I found another film in my room.

Social weirdness

Why is it that I can chat to some people for hours on end yet I can barely say two words to others before feeling all awkward?

Die

DieA few years back my brother, and a team of people he lead, ran monthly events for the youth of the churches in Reading. The idea was that they could invite their friends along and it would be a friendly, neutral place with a small element of evangelism. One of the frequent features was a band called Jericho.

We have the cure in our pocket

I just wanted to share another song from the great sages - everybodyduck.

The song is about a guy has a disease and he's gonna die but his best friend has the cure. Does he use it and help his best friend? No - he just stands by and watches his friend die, keeping the cure safely wrapped up in his pocket.

How often do we sit back and watch our friends go about their lives not knowing Jesus? Everytime we do, we're condemning them to death.

Ever wondered how to add YouTube videos to your blog?

I did. But I figured it out.

1) On the blog editing page, under the text box where you edit your blog body there's a button that says "disable rich-text" - Click this.

2) On the YouTube page of the video you want to show, to the right of the actual video, there's a box that says "embed". Copy the text that's in this box.

3) Paste this text into your blog "body" box.

Pinch punch, first of the month

...and no returns.

Can't believe it's November already, where did the summer go?

Because You Are

Because You AreI've been listening to the worship album "Seized by the power of a great affection" by Everbodyduck and the song "becasue you are" struck home.

Impossible is Nothing

Impossible is NothingI saw this ad on the back of a bus and thought it was pretty clever. But I had to add a couple of words to make it have a real impact on me.

Impossible is nothing to God.
When we see something as impossible, something that cannot possible happen, God sees only possiblilites and potential. I was praying for a friend this morning who is going through a very tough patch in his marriage and these words came to me, that to God impossible is nothing, it has no meaning in his view of the world.
