african timing two...

Ok, so i have about 5 minutes left on my internet cafe time so this will have to be quick. So here's a whistle stop tour of my last week....I'm now not dong anything "useful" for god but am backpacking in south africa, chilling out, i think god tricked me into coming on holiday under the pretence of dong something good for him! He's totally been loving me back to life after some hard weeks and months, i've had so much time to spend with god, get into my bible, and generally unwind and recover - he knows so much better than me what i need! (a good thing too!)

African Timing

African TimingI'm being a little tested in my faith. I fly to Johannesburg on Saturday and have spent the last 6 weeks trying to arrange a trip to an orphanage in Mozambique. But much to my frustration, African organisation is not quite the same as ours (as I do actually know from previous experience) and I still don't know if I can or cannot go to Mozambique. I've been joking about how it's going to be a bit of a flight of faith, and suddenly it really really is! Ah! I leave in 3 days! I'll be in South Africa for about 5 weeks, and am just having to pray and believe that God really has something planned for me to do and I won't spend 5 weeks in Joberg airport! (although in reality I do have friends there I can and will call on, so I won't be homeless I don't think!)

"Freely you have received..." Why thank you very much. "...Freely Give." Err, what?

Matthew 10:8 "freely you have received, freely give"

Our lives are often so full of christian jargon. So much about what we can get and so little about what we can give. How many times have we sung "I surrender all", "be the centre", "lord you have my heart"? Do our lives really live what we sing?

ok so this was going to be interesting...

But then someone accidentally kicked out the internet wire from my computer as I clicked submit on my first blog.

So all my pride in everything I had just gone to great effort to write was well and truly destroyed, and this time I'm making much less effort!

So I hereby announce my arrival to the world of blogging, more interesting posts will hopefully follow as I fe
