3by3by3 book...

Here are the 27 poems, which make up my book.
I'm putting them up here, so that people can link to this page from 3by3by3.blogspot.com.

Hope you like them.

3by3by3

Pick 3 stories from Google News. Using only words that occur in the first few paragraphs of each story, make a poem with 3 stanzas, 3 lines each, no more than 60 characters per line.
The 3-word title should use a word from each story.

1. Coast Lights Everything

Rainbow colour communication in bright flashes,
Cleans up, disorientates, victims of dollars.
Scandal revealed in light, despite magical device.

Million bright flashes and vomiting headaches.
A toxic apple, aloof and frightened.
Tens of thousands capturing light, inactive.

Flapping, rapid bending forwards,
Forbids future and all its forms,
You can only see backwards.

2. Lighting Ivory Moon

Like a giant incandescent trampoline,
A patiently waiting downlight hangs,
Historic ivory fluorescents.

Fascinated millions capture lunar lights,
Intelligent creatures, watchers, like upside down trees,
In both living and dead reality.

Their sentinel mission of refuge to settle,
Install, establish homes, amidst the bayous habitat,
And last much longer.

3. Minor Trip Home

Out of small and precious possibilities,
Gold and silver paper stars rose,
Freezing, as suspended balloons.

Stood optimistic and incredible,
After a gap of two years,
Impatient, even, with syrupy customs.

Little, humble, mild,
Decorated with awe and garlands,
She was a miracle: delivered.

4. Word Meeting Sign

Lost somewhere in stacks of stuff,
The real Word,
Global effort, cut in His hands.

Sunday morning meetings,
Especially heavy, lethargic,
Contain ambitious, smart, talks.

I don’t have to explain,
Or boast: wealthier, better.
But say I’m grateful, and switch.

5. Three Million Sandwich

Almost every day snow storms stranded,
Slowed momentum too long,
For tarmac travellers, hunched, safe, still.

Ice skills at keyhole,
Move forward, step toward,
Introduce, cancel and begin.

Blue delay, promising action,
Repairing reputation, staving off, pushing,
Sitting, with thoughts and apologies.
6. Indirect Forecast: Yesterday

We designed today surprising.
Solar chill, brief heavy winter,
With snow Pegasus constellation.

We designed morning by chance.
Detailed, amazing and
Likely to resemble birthday cake.

We designed tonight lavish.
A vast, giant, spiralling orbit,
And hot, cloudy Jupiter evening.

7. Kill Television Breakdown

Out of control monkeys, unglued in space,
Tie baby astronaut’s wrists and ankles with duct tape,
And send shuttle to KFC, or Taco Bell.

Psycho rats with hands and teeth,
Study business at Iowa State University,
And open restaurant in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village.

To resolve this completely unacceptable month,
22 space chimps decide on a case by case basis,
Whether international mankind should abort.

8. Found Energy After

The image towards earth,
A two colour comet, swings by its target,
Revealed, and highly fragile.

Stable image has yet been found.
Change direction, approach, and restart,
Lost, broke resurrection.

Eclipse calm conditions,
Underpin composite belonging,
Name inscribed, stored.

9. Early Morning Discovery

Coffee selling on the streets,
Election day sugary brew,
Outlined, informed details.

Stunted by old incumbents
And octogenarian generations,
Young people muffle authority.

Malaise hijacked and rhapsodizing,
With resurrected buzz word fate,
Foundation anchored, buoyed.

10.  Challenge My Being

What price passion?
What price innocence?
What price love?

It’s only a reflector whiteout,
A textbook whitewash, a charmless adventure,
On the long road to nowhere.

Our new year’s revolution, new bright leaf,
Live and let lie, four year high,
Speak it better, with meaning.

11. New Picture Experiment

Remote afterglow reflects,
An ever increasing,
Painted, rippled universe.

Extra spectral,
Light permiates dark,
Heat permiates cold.

Visible attraction holds,
Antigravity burden,
Balances.

12. Light Box Opened

Light contains,
Truth blinding,
And believed.

Light consumes,
Dark lost,
And devoured.

Light ascends,
A resurrection,
And mystery.

13. Dark Spy Arrested

Hard image shows
The little rendezvous,
Icy, not hostile.

Two photos captured,
Reduce its speed,
Hold, freeze fallout.

Dried out observations,
Promise much,
Through fragile encounter.

14. Red Light Rises

Tiny copper moon,
Shines hopeful, and refracts,
Your brightly staged future.

A light lifted higher,
Through storms and defects,
Casts shadows broad, and stepped.

In this irresistible eclipse,
Self, fear and flight
Are viewed front and centre.

15. Toasted Junior Saint

It splutters forth
Some eclectic range,
Some meltdown of stuff.

A sidewalk mix-up.
A thousand keen cynics
Hint their anticipatory offerings

Yet look out of place.
Here fine attention is championed,
And fervent interest, diluted.

16.  Best Taste Invented

The muse, ponders,
Launching playful
With truth.

‘It should be used
With great care,
Like Tabasco sauce.’

A carefully devised soubriquet
Bottles,
In small, fiery vials.

17. Early Torn Eclipse

Graceful,
Near-perfect lines,
Fascinate gazers.

Gathered
To witness.
Immersion in totality.

Glowing,
Deep bright,
Bathed invisible.

18. Me: Future Offcuts

Tomorrow’s brightness
Casts a vivid shadow,
Fat and clear.

Proud first-worn ideas,
Ten years later,
Hide down and dark.

Elderly designed
Pockets hold old times,
Safety pinned.

19.  The Waiting State

Remember nothing.
Suspend, hold again,
Celebrate first, still.

On tenterhooks
The day has come
To frantically wait.

To weigh up awards,
To scramble decisions,
To rise thought.

 20.  One Short Pain

The spontaneously generated
Generation “tainted empathy”,
Left with increased possibility.

A cross contamination,
Instantaneous inoculation,
Enabling earth-bound denial.

New rules balloon suddenly
And switch us spectacular.
Every stage of production, flicked.

21.  You Explore Wonder

I think I saw you last night,
Skipping down the road,
During a lunar eclipse.

A pretty vivid mystery,
Of play transportation,
And bright orange light.

Gradually lost,
Crumbled like sand,
Wet, and struck.

22. Tear Spot Central

Swept ash lake,
Storm whipped grey dust.
Now we have to see.

Violent-loving silver cranes,
Like flowers, tear down,
Forgetting revolutionary ideas.

No “Wonderful, wonderful”,
Laid out, in front of the banner,
Reading “Loved”.

23. Hologram Zero Rises

We will miss you,
Every line we lose,
Every building falls down.

Just go on,
Chase those long days,
You can’t go any further.

Where are we now?
Here. Are we now?
Holding the wheel of an aeroplane.

24.  Little Precise Scan

Don’t look up.
Paper and stones are falling.
That is no way to die.

A split second chance,
Pinned to the page,
Sheet, scored.

All of the locks
Closed  fast.
Granite heart. Broken rules.

25.  Black Eyeliner Smile

Get a better winter.
See sparks air wash,
Bonfire flare and fizz.

A New Year leaf,
Held bright, aloft,
Casts light.

Struggle curls inside,
Knowing future,
Now.

26. Fail To Conform

These black jet flames,
Seemingly inflate the igloo fuselage,
In a patchy fly-by.

This cut praise,
Ratchets stress,
Burrows out snow.

This thick, assured confidence,
Holds to ransom,
My soft wish landing.

27.  Perfect In Time

I’m breathing you in.
I breathe and you win,
A hunger, remembered.

A minute with you.
I’m in it with you.
A hunger, remembered.

Freedom of this.
Free from all this.
A hunger, remembered.
cool.

good luck and all that.

Finally got round to reading these. Well the first 10 anyway, didn't want to read too much in one go. In the spirit of the thing I intended to stop at 9 but my eyes lingered down the screen onto the tenth. I look forward to reading the remainder.
