This morning was my first morning as a resident of Clapham, having moved yesterday afternoon.
My new room is a loft room with white brickwork and wooden-panelled ceiling and supports. The room looks like a cross between an old country cottage and a room at the top of a windmill.
I had a lovely walk to work. A lollipop man helped me cross the road. Then I walked along the edge of Clapham Common for a while.
Then I took a wrong turning and had to ask for directions to the tube station. Then I realised I had stopped right outside High Trees House which was very exciting. Well, it's exciting for a law student who studied Contract Law not too long ago. The High Trees House case is a very important case in Contract Law which I had to learn for my exam. It's the leading case on Promissory Estoppel where Lord Denning affirmed the principles of the doctrine.
Then I had to go on the Northern Line. Well, you can't have everything.
Actually, the tube journey was very quick and I managed to pick up my first Metro in ages. I missed the Metro when I wasn't commuting.
This evening, I'm planning on going food shopping. I love food shopping. That's probably because I love food.
At my old place, my only local supermarket was a Co-op. The next nearest was another Co-op. I used to do my main shopping in central Wimbledon after college and walk 25 minutes home with bags of shopping.
The great thing about my new place is that it's only a short walk from an ASDA, a Lidl, a Somerfield, a Tesco Metro and not too far from an Iceland. And they're open late too, so I could do my shopping after a night out if I wanted to.
