This week at Ridley Hall (where I'm studying towards ordination, at Cambridge University) we've had the great and special privilege of meeting Shaikh Ali Gomaa, The Grand Mufti of Cairo. Grand Mufti is a common title in predominantly Sunni countries, where that person pronounces Fatwas or interpretations about government policies as they relate to the Islamic faith. I'll post more later about Dr Gomaa's visit.
I'll also be posting about the potentialy even more exciting start of a month-long visit with three of His Eminence's theological students from Alazhar Univeristy in Cairo, to Ridley Hall. Ridley is one of Britain's foremost evangelical Christian colleges and it's thought that this is one of the first such long-term exchanges of theological students in history! I'm really hoping that as part of their visit to Britain, one or two of our guests might come down and check out Holy Trinity Swiss Cottage as well.
