Too much of a good thing is a good thing

After reading A_Missed_Opportunity by Grahamt, I observe that many of us as christians feel that we Bush/Blair and those who supported the war lost an opportunity to show our real Christian values.

I think pardoning Saddam or at least giving him life in prison other than hanging him shall offer a golden opportunity for healing the Iraq society as well and the relationship between the west and Iraq.

Do you ever feel that God does not answer your prayers? Where is the silver lining? 

This was a discussion I had with my sister who is going through a hard time in Africa. It is an extension to the current hard times that have hit me, and thus my earlier request for help in the last posting, can anyone help? that I posted a few days ago.
