thought for the day: maturity

it struck me for some reason the other day that all of us need to attain and maintain the level of maturity where we can give to others what, lets be frank, they really don't appear to deserve:

for example, forgiveness, time and encouragement.

amazingingly these correspond to what we are increasingly becoming in Christ. Or as the psalmist puts its

Psalm 145
The LORD is merciful, compassionate, patient, and always ready to forgive.
Reminds me of something I heard a couple of weeks back:

Justice: Getting what you deserve
Mercy: Not getting what you deserve
Grace: Getting an ice-cream
particularly a challenge when the ice-cream gets poked back in your face!

Thanks for posting this one Michael. Where would we be without grace? and thank you for the challenging thought for the day. God Bless.
