Reading and Writing

At last!  I breathe a sigh of relief.  The school children have gone on holiday and I am left standing in a ransacked classroom looking bewlidered yet happy.  It is holidays!

I have had one week of 'freedom' so far and am really enjoying the rest, although I have been in to school on a number of occassions to get things done - sad I know!

I am particularly enjoying the break for another reason too, the fact that I can read!  I always find that I buy some books, but then never get a chance to read them.  So I'm reading with a vengence at the moment!  Having studied English Literature at University, I am quite partial to a good book every now and then.  I have already read 'House Of Stone' which actually tells a story about people I am friends with and places that I know very well becaues I grew up there!  I am now half way through 'When A Crocodile Eats The Sun', another story about Zimbabwe, but more of a memoir and other interesting bits of personal family history related to the author.

One reason for reading these particular books is due to the fact that these holidays I have decided it is time to write!  Time to write a novel.  It is a fictional story, based on real events. -  Set in Zimbabwe during the farm invasions, two boys find themselves thrown into turmoil.  Thrying to look at the situation through the eyes of these boys, one white, the other black, in an attempt to try to understand the madness that surrounds them. - I have already made headway and hope to keep going throughout the summer.  Please hold me in your prayers.

As a result, I may not have frequent occasion to blog as regularly as I would like, but please bare with me as I will write as often as I can to keep you up to date.
