Seeing Red

Now my blog is not strictly about Jobs.....

Yesterday I was reading through my bible and wanted to read a chapter from Job.  To my amazement, Job was missing.  Now I know sometimes its hard to find books in the bible (especially the really small ones like 1 John and 1 Peter) but Job I was pretty sure is quite a large book in the bible - over 40 chapters long!

The bible which I had raved about to all my pastorate buddies had one major flaw!  (It is pretty special as it contains the TNIV and the Message side by side on each page - two translations in one!!) They'd missed out Job!

As you can imagine - I have bought a new bible.

A pretty bad 'JOB' eh?  Ha ha.

At the weekend this prayer kept appearing in a number of different places.  I believe that is often God's way of saying something.  I think the bottom part in bold has become so true and something certainly I need to pray for more regularly.

Thanks be to you, our Lord Jesus Christ,
for all the benefits which you have given us,
for all the pains and insults which you have borne for us.
Most merciful Redeemer, Friend and Brother,
may we know you more clearly,
love you more dearly,
and follow you more nearly,
day by day.
Amen.
