God is in the house (B)

In my previous blog entry, written just now, i put a picture of my flatmate Brent reading Harry Potter on a beach in Scotland. It wasn't meant to be profound or sentimental, just an nice picture. It's good to share these things i think.

I'd love to hear Bob Dylan singing 'Hurt' by Johnny Cash.

Some things i wanted to say before i started talking about Nick Cave and Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan:

- Jesus says in John 15 that we can only bear fruit if we remain in Him. this is very comforting. please read John 15 it is wonderful.
- The fruits of the Spirit are is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (against such things there is no law, by the way).
- If you give a sheep (for example) food, then all the other things that a healthy animal should do will happen naturally- reproduction, movement, etc. I think it's the same with reading the bible and taking in God's word. All the other stuff will happen naturally if you make sure you are well fed.

-Thus i think that what we chiefly need to do is get in LOVE with God (Revelation 2v4-5 talks about this) and stick close to Him. Let him be in our lives. Then stuff will happen from that. at the end of acts 2 it talks about how the Lord added daily to the early church new Christians. it was natural. the church just did their thing with joy and freedom from God, and the results followed.
