A week ago I was lying in bed with an intense stomach ache and headache, courtesy of a nasty bug I picked up in Cordoba. It wasn't just annoying because I had loads of work that I wanted to get on with, but also because I knew that I had one week before I'd be evicted from my current abode. And it wasn't just the pressure of having to find somewhere to live in a week, but also the fact that I didn't really know how to go about it in a foreign massive city. Most places are rented without furniture, for example, and most places require you to provide a signature of someone leaving their own property as a guarantee!!

So I found myself on my knees, asking God for some serious help. I did as much as I could, using all the contacts I had, phoning people, scouring the net and newspapers, hoping that a principle they taught me in YWAM "when we do our possible, God does the impossible" would hold true.

And quite an incredible thing happened... I phoned a woman that I met in a glasses shop last year, went to her Catholic church at the weekend, spent the day with her and her son, met her husband in the evening... Her husband lives in an apartment block in the centre; he said sometimes unfurnished apartments are available, he'd look into it. The next morning he calls me to say the biggest and nicest apartment in the whole block happens to be available for rent for the next few months. I went to see it, it's amazing, ten times nicer and bigger than ANYTHING I've seen for the same price (where you basically get a bedsit), very central, and fully furnished. It's been designed by arty architects so it's quirky and fully of beautiful lights. The landlords have had loads of interest in the place, but for some reason they were happy to rent it to me... I couldn't believe it... It doesn't even stop there. I found an office to work in 10 blocks away, which I'll share with another Christian ministry here (amazing when you think how massive this city is) and a lovely Argentine friend to share the apartment with....
