remembering how...

Over the past few weeks, I've logged on quite a few times to write a post, but I think I've forgotten how!  Not literally, but each time I start, I think I'm writing the most boring post ever (much like now!), delete it and sit looking at my computer for a few minutes before sighing and logging back out.  So forgive me if this is dull, but I feel I just need to get back in the saddle and write something to get started again (I was just about to mix metaphors, but found the backspace key just in time... phew!).

I'm back in HK after a, wait for it, HOLIDAY!  It was one of the best ever!  Skiing in the Alps - the weather was great, snow fantastic (fresh nearly every morning) and friends first class!  I don't remember the last time I was so happy...  Mountains certainly are giving water a run for its money!  Oh, and cute french ski instructor - that was just a bonus!  It was one of those weeks when everything was going to go right!  Okay, I'll stop there...

Then a week in London catching up with friends and family - didn't have a lot of spare time (was working some too), but managed to catch up with the cousins, friends and even get in a bit of me prayer time with one of the Brides (of Christ) - such a refreshment!

The weekend saw the ol' Tollington crew heading down to Cornwall to see another of us married off.  To anyone wanting to get married, seriously, get to Tollington.  They have a bit of a ministry in marriage - when the team first went up there, they started praying for marriages, and more than half of the old team are now hitched - it is quite something!

Anyway, it was Vanda and Andrew's big day - and it was absolutely lovely.  The church was an old Norman church, nestled in the hills overlooking the Cornish coast, on what is now a golf course.  Jamie did a sterling job of the ceremony, V looked stunning and A handsome, and it was romantic and fairtale-ish!  The evening continued into the night, with lots of dancing and general hilarity...

With us just getting back to the cottage in time to see the final few overs of Ireland beating Pakistan in the world cup.  What a way to top off St Paddy's Day!  To Imran Khan - who once called NZ a B grade team, that had no right playing test cricket - nah na na naaah nah!  (Sorry to the coach though...)
Welcome back, K, it was lovely to see you!
Can't wait to see you soon again . . . seems I got in to Tollington a bit late though for the old 'marrying off' business..... they're all young whipper snappers now. Eee well it's still a grand place to be 'of a Sunday'! : )
Right, I'm off to Tollington... ;)
Hi Kat! Wondered how you're doing. How's India?
Hey! Thanks for your note on my blog. It's good to hear how you're doing and that you're happy and getting good time with friends...even if it's busy!! I hope you find some time to recharge and relax amidst it all.

London was good. I was an unmotivated tourist but I had fun, hit some museums, wandered everywhere and nowhere, and enjoyed the aboutlifers I met.

Hmm...next for me? Now that is the question of the hour... I had hoped going to London would help me to sort out what God was doing. It didn't. If the Lord happens to give you a word on my behalf, please let me know. ;-) Truthfully, I'm at a bit of a loss. Which really isn't new for me. I've been at a loss for several months. I guess pray for me if you think of it; I continue to feel shut out trying to pray to a God who remains shrouded in silence.

Oh, I tagged you. Enjoy!
