Okay, no discussion, no fishing or handing out of affirmation (unless required in which case of course go ahead!), I just want a straw poll.

Do you think that what you 'do' - for most of the day, has a purpose to it - or more like, do you feel that you're more or less doing what you should be at the moment, work wise?

You know, you don't bump into him anymore in your prayer times or at church or anywhere and so being a Christian becomes about reading an averagely interesting book every day, trying to be good, and talking to what seems like a brick wall on a regular basis about how wonderful God is, trust, and the things you need?

For what purpose are we saved?

And when I am so troubled and saddened by the evil and human suffering that I witness, and thus convinced of the value of human life, community and family, I then wonder at how quickly we can cheapen that life, for which we have fought so hard, through triviality, selfishness, greed.

If there's one thing to convince me that the world is drowning in triviality, it's the BBC "most read" stories page, where a news story, no matter how important, is beaten to the #1 slot by the latest celeb tidbit.

Why are we drowning ourselves with triviality and happy to be on the road to general ignorance and destruction as long as we have a copy of HEAT to read on the way? (For further evidence of this, see the new BBC series "Help! My Dog's as Fat as Me", starting at 8.30 tonight).

Iraqi children used in bombings

Not much suprises me any more, but sometimes you just despair.

A US military official has said children have been used in a bomb attack in Iraq, raising fears that insurgents are using a new tactic.

Gen Michael Barbero said a vehicle stopped at a checkpoint was waved through because two children were seen in the back, but was then detonated. Militants were changing tactics in response to tighter security, he said.

Snowball one landed on housemate's window, making a satisfying thud noise. Snowball 2 did the same and caused said housemate to open their window.

I kind of thought that this movie should be titled "The pursuit of hard cash", rather than of happiness, so was pleased to find a review of this stockbroking movie, by a stockbroker:

Will Smith's movie The Pursuit of Happiness opened at cinemas last week and has a premise so preposterous that it may win the prize of most absurd film of the decade.

So I get up in the dark
it now costs £2 to get down the road on the bus (still driven by evil kenivel bent on injuring us all)
before bording the tube stuffed with miserable people to get to work which is mega busy as most of our senior staff are still kicking it back in their home-county pads
leaving me sweating away for a pathetic wage packet which if I'm lucky will allow me to buy a 20% share in some half burned out crack den in 2025, if not I'll continue to be placed over a barrel by an evil letting agent and thrashed for every penny I earn for the rest of my life.

I wrote this in June when I was recovering at home after I broke my back in Germany. I just found it and thought it might be interesting for all those people who ask ‘how’s your back?’ or assume I did it by stagediving during a performance..
Breaking your back is scary as heck, but it teaches you some. How come I want to get better, but want my mind to stay broken?

All of us have blind spots.

A few years ago, I suffered nasty injuries as a result of riding my bike in the blind spot of a truck.

Said man in truck did not mean to put me in hospital, he just didn't realise the effect his changing of lane would have on my health.

We all have blind spots where we can unintentionally wound each other. Had any comments recently that have cut you up? You think they meant it? Nah, probably not eh?
