i shot this video with Dr. Joe Stowell who is the former President of Moody Bible Institute here in Chicago.  We shot it last week as a quick greeting to all of our small group leaders in our church who couldn't make it to an event.  it turned into a 25 minute devotional about the idea that the source of our service in ministry comes from our love for our Savior.  it's a really powerful conversation he has.  i would encourage you to watch it.  in 25 minutes, you'll be much more excited and passionate about serving in the ministry you're called to! 

this guy named al mohler, who is the president of an outstanding seminary here in the US, penned an article I have run across several times in blog world that causes me to evaluate my relationship with the Lord each time I read it. 

dr. mohler is an outstanding man of God as I have heard him speak several times while I was at moody (yes that's me from a few years ago) and he did nothing but point us all to the cross.  he's crafted an outline of 13 characteristics of a godly man. 

I tivo'd the Oscars last night since I was at church running lyrics for our college ministry.  I made it through in under 45 minutes...
