I have met few people as terrible as me for sleeping in. Most would leave it as a weekend thing - when I get a job I'll have to do that too - but I have, for many years now, taken the lie-in to wholly new ridiculous levels.

For example: Today I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed at about 8:15. Within seconds I was drowsy and decided to go back to sleep just a little bit longer, intending to get up at oh... 8:30 at the latest.

I was thinking the other day that I should really be making more of an effort to eat healthily and do more exercise and lose some fat and gain some muscle. All this while I was munching away on a bag of sweets or crisps or some equally edible fattening foodstuff.

Flattering huh? Fattering maybe..

Other than that, I have shifted base camp over to Brisbane. Grant has been taking super care of me and pampering me a lot (as he should ;) ) and taking me places and generally spoiling me :)

I had, as I often do when I'm meant to be doing other more pressing things, a thought today:

Is "happy hour" appropriately named? It suggests, in a rather cheerful way, that the rest of your life must be miserable and meaningless. Not to worry, it's happy hour now - you give us twice as much cash as we spent buying these drinks, and we'll give you what You think is double what you asked for.

One of my classmates has a habit of singing when he is happy. This would be pretty much okay if he sang a variety of songs instead of just the obscure one or two, sang in tune, and didn't try hold a (flat) note for longer than the song itself. He has headphones, so no one else really knows what he's listening too, but if it's anything like his vocals it might be a blessing in disguise. His musical range is interesting, as he seems to know an octave of four keys, none of them harmonious.

It's times like this I wish I could sleep, she said to herself & with that thought spent another hour wondering if there was anything she'd missed so that when she gets up tomorrow she can go do it, provided she has a sleep to wake up from in the first place.
