I've just given my first talk in a very long time, and my first talk ever at HTB staff meeting. If i'm honest (which is what we're all about, right?), i'm feeling a little bit vulnerable now. I spoke my heart, but i know that i am very different within the culture here. there's nothing scarier than standing in front of you friends, colleages and superiors and being raw!

Please could you pray for Aiden Ewen. He dislocated his shoulder diving off a 16ft rock into the sea. He's generally been in good spirits, but cant do any of the 'boy things' he wanted to do, and is still in quite a bit of pain.

I dont mean to sound pessimistic, but it keeps occurring to me that the only person/thing/being/presence we can trust in this world is...well, God. and Jesus, as He is God.

I just wanted to share this, as personally, it's something I keep having to 'get'. I'm 22 (which is a baby i know), and sometimes i still dont get why people let you down. I dont get disappointment. I dont get pain, and i just want to stamp my little foot in a fit of fury and exclaim "IT'S NOT FAIR!"

Has anyone ever noticed how when people from outside come into the church, they all do this steady, solemn, and rather dignified stroll, with hands behind their back, treading very carefully, as if not to wake the sleeping saints. Then they half smile at you, slighty bow their head and sometimes mutter a 'morning' or a whispery 'hello'. It cracks me up! I want to pounce out from behind my post and shout 'BOO!!!' just to see what they do!
