Another new song from the archive...this time an uplifting worship song revealing God's beauty as greater than the His beautiful creation around us.
Living in Cornwall it's clear to see God's radiant beauty in His awesome creation around me - blue sky, infinite sea, lush green fields, tropical plants (here and there!) and long sandy beaches (albeit with a few stones amongst the grains...).
The chorus of the song is about God's beauty - it is an awesome thought that the most beautiful sight known to man - whatever your personal favourite is - will be nothing compared to witnessing God's perfection in heaven above.
The first verse expresses some feelings I had when I heard some people talking about the awesome place which I live - I couldn't understand how people wouldn't think past the creation and to the creator. The verse goes on to talk about sin and how, despite the clearness of God in our lives, we still continue to disobey Him.
The second verse talks about how we should praise God and exalt His name through all situations - and how we'd be lost without His input in our lives...
Finally the bridge/tag section continues the theme on worshipping God in all our days - glorifying and lifting Him higher. (I think its slightly "borrowed" off an adlibbed bit on a Matt Redman recording - I didn't realise this until recently - so bridge should be creditted to MR I guess....sorry Matt should you ever read this).
Words are as follows -
On a day like this, how could they deny You?
On a day like this, how could they say no?
On a day like this, how could I defy You?
On a day like this, on a day like this...
'Cos it's beautiful outside but not as beautiful as You,
As Your glory shines upon us Lord, Your Holy Word is true.
Yes it's beautiful outside but not as beautiful as You,
May our praise delight Your face oh Lord, we worship only You.
On a day like this may Your name be well exalted,
On a day like this through the famine and the flood,
On a day like this where would we be without You?
On a day like this lost without Jesus' blood...
'Cos it's....
We lift You high and glorify and bring You praise all of our days.
We lift You high and glorify and bring You praise all of our days.
We lift You high and glorify and bring You praise all of our days.
We lift You high and glorify and bring You praise...
'Cos it's...
