When we were at the New Wine gathering in Scotland we got a chance to hang out a bit with Brian Doerksen (wrote Faithful One, Come now is the time to worship and many more).
It was really cool to listen to a talk on how he would approach worship times that he did.
Here are my rough notes from it but i think you'll get the jist.

+Importance of relationships and how him being married is his first ministry

1. Thanking God as Creator
-God as Creator - walking through the forest - loving Creator

2. Surrendering to God as King and Commander
-God as King - Different from any earthly King - force and power never draw you in

3. Receiving God as Redeemer and Saviour
-God as Redeemer - forgiveness

4. Trembling before God as Holy and Judge
-God as Holy of Holies - Facedown - never remove mystery from worship

5. Trusting God as our Shepherd and provision
-God as Leader - He's always going ahead and preparing the way before us - Offering - Be a giver

6. Living as Sons and Daughters of God the Father
-God as Father - He seeks worshippers who are sons and Daughters - we're not Orphans

7. Returning to God as Husband and Bride Groom
-God as Bride Groom - husband heart of God for His bride to return to Him
