In this Godpod the team are joined by Mike Pilavachi of Soul Survivor. They talk about Mike's leadership in the church and with the youth. Also the small subject of sin?

Sinnees?
Interesting discussion on the importance of preaching about sin - Mike P commented that the gospel is bad news before it is good news i.e we need to understand we are sinners in order to become Christians.
Is this not just one side of the story? If sin is seen as the corruption of "shalom" or God's good creation including all our relationships rather than narrowly defined as only affecting our "spiritual" relationship with God then we are all not only sinners, but also "sinnees". If as well as comitting sins against others (and God) we are also victims of others sins against us then Jesus' victory over sin and death is good news in liberating us from this.
However it is perhaps more obviously good news to "the poor" i.e those who have lost out in our corrupt world than those higher up the social scale who have more to lose from the coming of an "upside-down" Kingdom, where the rule of Jesus "makes all things new".
What do you think?
