Jesus Camp

'Jesus Camp' a controversial new documentary airing the United States is set to divide opinion on how we teach children about God, our relationship with Him and the image that we proptray to others about Him

On the one hand, the results that Becky Fischer is having would cause many churches to be envious and to ask why they can't get that result with adults let alone children.  On the other, it begs the question, what are we placing on our children and why.

Laying Good Foundations

Laying Good FoundationsThere are many analogies that we can draw when talking about foundations.  If a building doesn’t have good foundations, for example, a building won’t be safe or stand for very long.  The reverse is also true.  A building with strong foundations is a strong building.

Are you uncomfortable yet?

Have you ever wondered why you go through the difficulties that you do?  Why things don’t work out quite the way you had expected, or hoped?

Maybe you have been a Christian for so long that you no longer ask that question.  Or maybe you have heard for so long that, ‘if we want to be like Jesus, we have to suffer as he suffered’. Well, it’s true, suffering is part of the Christian life.

Stop the Traffik

Stop the TraffikStop the Traffik All too often it is too easy to close your eyes to the injustice and inequalities of society because of the perceived progresses society has made.

This month’s commemorations of the bicentenary of the slave trade is bringing this home in ways that can not be clearer. The massive trade in lives from Guinea, the Congo, Angola and other parts of West Africa to America and the United Kingdom were important for the economic development of the United States, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, nearly all of the West Indies, Venezuela.

The Voice of God

The Voice of GodHearing the voice of God can be the most exhilerating experience while also being one of the most humbling and possibly even frightening experiences.

Recorded reactions confirm that our own experiences of the voice of God are not unique.
