New Season, Old Woes

The wind, the rain and the smell of petrol and burnt rubber. It can only mean one thing.

The motor racing season is back.

And it is back with a vengence only instead of glory the car is playing up again.

So far a trip to Silverstone has resulted in a light smash, caused by my Dad spinning on his own petrol and the cracking of the stub axle on the front right hand side of the car.

A trip to Lydden Hill has resulted in the breaking of the gear box and having to take the engine out, changing the gearbox and putting it back in.

I have grown up with Motor Sport and love it (even the 5am starts!). My Dad has a 1970s green MG Midget that we take to various race tracks across England and there is nothing like standing at Copse Corner at Silverstone in the wet in July!

Having grown up carrying spanners and jacks around and changing tyres in all weathers I now spend my time on trackside wearing a fire-proof ORANGE overall and occasionally waving a flag or running with a fire extingusher to an accident. I do this in all weathers.

I am person (in Organge ) on the far left of this picture

you know who else wears orange overalls? Convicts...
Didn't B&Q people wear them too?
