The evil of gossip slips beneath the radar

Why is it that our christian community trades sensitive information so easily? Do we gain in stature or significance  as we do it? Love protects so paul says, clearly gossip is the reverse.if I begin an innapropriate relationship with an alsation (which im not- its just an example-) and the information trading sets forth( in the concerned name of prayer) which is worse?Id love to know

Tension

It seems strategy and numbers can be  today's addiction in our church community.I accept utterly the call to reach out to the world and see the faith grow, but when the emphasis  of growth is measured primarily numerically I feel uneasy. We want big.We want impressive.Busyness is next to godliness.Am I being effective for the kingdom? How can I measure this? I need to see results to make it worth it?One of the things the gospel says to me is slow down and listen.Grow in depth. Listen to God,listen to each other ,and take time.

The f word.

My friend Emile gave his testimony in church on sunday.
It made me cry like a baby to hear someone caught on the brink of suicide and brought home-- "out of his coffin" as he put it to me.
The saddest part of the whole evening were the complaints of his bad language.
Yes Emile used bad language and yes it could have been more sanitised for the rarified ears of the fold, but he is a dying man caught back for life with no christian etiquette whatsoever.
