Pop and flop

The sound pop really goes pop, as I pushed my stride out a little bit further the muscle popped. It seemed like I was in slow motion, as I watched my body flop on the tartan track. Frustration and pain merged. I can sympathise with those 100m runners at the Olympics, the heartache of falling just short of the line (well to a degree, I'm just your average social runner compared with them). Now it's a time of resting and waiting.
