Thoughts on Dawkins

I decided that I would write down an argument that I have been thinking about against Richard Dawkins. Please comment if you want to:

Dawkins makes two foundational claims. Firstly, that science provides an explanation for the existence and continuation of life. And secondly, that this explanation is better than any others because it is based on evidence that can be disproved.

PhD

PhD

I received exciting news today that I have been accepted by the University of Edinburgh for a PhD from September. For those interested my topic is probably going to be:

A theological assessment of Calvinist political thought 1574-1614 [Buchanan, Beza, Althusius]

New College

New CollegeI am now settling into New College in Edinburgh. As you can see it is rather a nice place to study. From the doorway it is possible to see the Sea!

This term is going to be busy as I am taking three courses: Christian Ethics, Kant's Critique of Pure Reason and Christian Ethics in a Technological Society. Bring on Christmas...

Off to Edinburgh

Off to Edinburgh
I have been accepted to take a Masters in Theological Ethics at Edinburgh from September 2006!! This means that I will be moving to Edinburgh obviously which is a shame given all my friends still in London - but it is a fantastic answer to prayer.

Leaving London

Leaving LondonI have spent the last two and a half years working at the Bank of England but it is all over for now. I have a two year career break and am starting off by heading out of London and email contact to L'Abri in Hampshire (www.englishlabri.org).
