So Professor Richard Dawkins has another bestseller on his hands. I have been a fan of Dawkins’s writing for years but I must say that as his popularity increases my interest wanes. When he sticks to writing about his specialist subjects, namely natural science, Charles Darwin and the theory of evolution, he writes really well. He has the ability to open up complex scientific conundrums and theories to lay readers like me.

Unfortunately in more recent times he has made forays into territory in which he clearly has far less background knowledge and experience...
