SVP Kalk BayJuly 27, 2007 - 8:40pm | email this page
Yo, Thought I'd write, its been a while. I'm way down South in the Cape at Kalk Bay doing a three month school of video production. I always knew I would be doing this course either as a launching pad for entering into the media industry or just grounding me in the basics for peripheral media work and projects. I know I will always be interested in it. Have learnt loads. Its a blessing to have such great room-mates who I get along so well with. At first I thought sharing with four other people (than having had a room to myself for the last course) would be a bit hectic (a common word in these parts), but actually its great. -An English computer scientist who actually happens to go to St. Marks Battersea Rise! -An actor from Zimbabwe. -A South-African kite boarder and worship leader and another funny and chilled out Zimbabwean. Listening to their stories really brings home the really terrible situation in Zimbabwe... One thing I've learnt here is how much work goes into so much tv. Its so easy to take everything for granted. Yesterday we had one of South Africa's leading sound men speak. He'd done the sound on an RAC ad in the UK where a guy notes down details whilst flying out someone's car. Well I didn't realise he was Literally being held outside the driving car! Anyway all good. I've been going to church of the Holy Spirit close by and Matt's brother is doing a great job leading worship!! Right now we are busy writing scripts for our first project, a short news piece. Must say Angela does such a great job with the HTB news! At the start I was very excited starting on this course, right now it is challenging, good but challenging. I must also say the importance of quiet times with God. Last week that simply wasn't happening and its amazing how as work stretches, unpeacefulness can stretch too when one is not pushing into the Lord and His word, living in His peace and walking out His will. charlieg's blog | report this page | 373 reads
