I'm not of that world, I'm just in that world. But I love my job...

The above link (copy and paste) is the latest advert from M&C Saatchi. Called 'Signs' it aired the other day for national tv.

Just so those who wonder why I haven't returned their calls earlier - there is a reason....and a productive one too....

Any problems with this, let me know.

Bacon Sandwiches and Salvation

Adrian Plass has just published his latest book. Most of you will probably know.

The other day - I found a copy left at the bottom of my stairs for me.

As I delved....I thought...oh I think I love this man just a little bit more.....

I'll share a few extracts with you.... from the A-Z book on Christian Life.

Ashurbanipal: a name slipped into the fourth chapter of Ezra by God for the purpose of preserving humility in those who think they are such good sight readers that they don't need to prepare Sunday lesson.

Jonsie

Jonsie

I was five. He was 19. Somehow this was no problem for me, I had already decided that I was to marry Jonsie. He knew this information. I made it very clear on every meeting.

He was the youth worker at Immanuel Baptist Church, the same church my father and mother were ministers of in the 80s.

Room for rent!

My friend and I are about to be home owners of a three bed maisonette in Brixton. Lovely.

We hope to move in to the light, airy, spacious, treat of a flat at the end of this month/ beginning of April.

We are looking for a third flat mate (Male/Female) non-smoker, friendly, who doesn't mind living with their landladies.

The flat is only 5 mins walk from Brixton tube, and has all latest mod cons, and as I shall be living there, will have wireless connection use at all times.

For your heart today...

Thyself, my God, I love;
Thyself, for Thyself, above all things.
Thyself I desire as a final end.

Thyself for Thyself I always and in all things seek,
with my heart and whole strength...

If Thou didst not bestow on me Thyself
Thou bestoweth nothing.
If I find not Thyself,
I find nothing.

Spirit of the Age

Arrr Christmas. The wonder of it all. I do like to watch children's eyes glaring at Santa, or concentrating fully on making sure their candle doesn't set fire to the girls' hair in front at Christingle.

On Chirstmas eve, Clare (my cousin) and her children made preparations for Santa's arrival to their house, baring gifts a plenty.

"Responsibility, Schmonsibility"

I'm fearful of a growing trend that seems to be seeping into the minds of our generation and those after us. I am not the first person to discuss this subject nor shall I be the last.

It is that of responsibility. Not the fear of responsibility. But those that refuse to take ownership of it. The people who have made it their life long ambition to sue the last coins of their previous employer, or the adverts that encourage us to not look where we are going on a wet surface. Instead! Great news! We can blame it on someone else!

Your Prayers Were Answered...

So I got off the phone to Carole. Great great news! She had the biopsy on 21st and they have called her to say all is clear! Such a terrifying thing to go through for a second time, but clearly some light was shed on her for the second time.

Thank you so so so much for your prayers, your emails, your phonecalls, your text and your comments here. It's nice to see someone like Carole get through it this time.

Prayer Request...

Prayer Request...

I just wanted to place a quick prayer up for my godmother, Carole. She suffered breast cancer this time last year and fought through fighting fit, but alas, they have found another growth elsewhere on her body.

We are praying that it is benign and that she and Tony can still go to Australia to visit their son on 30th November for Christmas.
