Saddam's General

Last night I met one of Saddam Hussein's former Generals.  I shook his hand and led him in worship! [grin!]

General George Sada used to be a senior General in the Iraqi Air Force though was kicked out in '86 as not a member of the Baath Party.  He was then brought back into service when Iraq invaded Kuwait and put in charge of all the POW's and did a lot to stop Saddam killing them!  He is of Assyrian decent rather than Arab and is also a born again Christian

He was speaking at a small drawing room meeting in Clapham organised by a friend from HTB.  (There were lots of familiar faces there) He was with Dr Terry Law a Pastor from the States who runs World Compassion Ministries and was talking about the book that he has written about his experiences and also his eveidence that there really were WMD's in Iraq and that a bulk of them were transported to Syria in 2003.  Quite controversial stuff.

The evening was very thought provoking.  I liked Gen Georges as he reminded me of one of my Mum's cousin Hugh.  He had a gentle way and a lovely sense of humour which made me trust what he had to say.  i think we will hear more of him over the next few years.

Just another Tuesday night in London!!!
