10 things i learnt on hols:

1. i can hold my breath underwater for 3minutes 2 seconds. ben towers actually managed 4 minutes but then had a seriously crazy look in his eye like he’d just inhaled a weather balloon.
2. the best way to harpoon a fish with a bungee and bamboo stick is to hang v still upside down in the water until one comes right up below you, possibly out of hilarious curiosity…
3. they don’t speak spanish in mallorca, no its mallorquin and the word for ‘mountain’ is ‘puig’ pronounced pooje.

home again

thanks for you prayers. phys training instructor course went really well. past 2 weeks ago then went to mallorca on hols. unfortunately not everyone got through. an ex para from my unit was one of them. hope he's ok about it.
anyway could see God was doing stuff with some of the soldiers. seems to be a relatively unexposed (previously to the gospel i mean) but very hungry culture, particularly on this course among so many driven characters. this girl on the course ended up recommitting her life to God and praying loads. in a barrage of differnt ways God seemed to be appealling to her heart and mind, trying to get through to her the last months to reassert her value- does that make any sense- i mean she'd been battered around, used and rejected by guys and had been in depression for months until june, when things started to look up. i didnt make a move on her but left the room when things could have got funky and at first that pissed her off but when i told her i's a crispo and wanted to honour what God thought about her worth that errupted into a flurry of searching questions. very sweetly, (and luckily for me!!), she said our chats about God just came at the right time. Pls pray for her. her name's Zoe and she's from bristol area.

R&R

Off on a physical training instructor course later this afternoon. 12 days. would love you to put one up for us. think its going to be quite hard work. ta

about.. life?

about.. life?Just been away on a two day jaunt on the south downs. Had a couple of days off so took the landy and went camping. For what was supposed to be rain, it was remarkably sunny.

The thing I love about eagles (oh there's loads of 'm on the south coast), is that they don’t panic. They seem to know stillness. They trust in their form and currents of wind to hold them way up. And they have good vision so from up there they can see what ever might come their way. Eagles aren’t magpies. They don’t flap around within easy reach of the ground or scavenge about between the fences, picking at this and that. They know what it is to wait and then swoop down on a particular given target. If one would try to stay within easy reach of the ground it would make poor work of flying. And you won’t see an eagle fall from the sky for not flapping.

woohoo boohoo etc

Cheers for putting me on to this jono you lunatic.
mm... blog.
was reading some stuff in peops blogs about post-focus-craziness. i'm not the only one then! since focus its been woohoo, boohoo, woohoo over and over.
loving this new desperate desire to worship and pursue God but with that comes some times of feeling well frustrated with the way i've responded to crap misunderstandings or circumstances. but been re-awoken/rewawakened (you know what i mean) to that direct access we have to Father and the stuff that hurts comes with, so its all pretty good after all.
