Nice to see you

br_C, I went through your links and picked up your comment below on cmaccerz’s blog:

“br_C – July 7, 2006 – 10.14am

I reckon this fear of death thing is behind a lot of the rubbish in our lives.

There's a song by Switchfoot called Easier than Love, which is about the distorted role of sex in society and surprisingly (to me anyway) the central line in the song is "everyone's been scared to death of dying here alone". “

That’s right out of one of my favourite movies Donnie Darko.

Donnie’s doctor says to him: “What did Roberta Sparrow [aka Grandma Death] say to you?
Donnie: She said “Every living creature on earth dies alone.”………….

Donnie’s doctor: “The search for God is absurd?”
Donnie:  “It is if everyone dies alone.”

My head feels like it’s in a vice, I can’t eat properly because of my braces, I’m throwing up, I’m not getting the nutrients I need, my judgement is clouded, my concentration is hazy, and my relations are strained. I’m feeling melancholic and I’m only 3 meals away from healing.

Yes, yes br_C you’ve inspired me to write about death this week because I feel like death.
Mr t, firstly, may God bring you healing and rest sooner than 3 meals from now.

secondly, if you haven't yet, check out A Collision by the David Crowder Band.  This album was conceived as a Christian response to death and it is life changing.  Also see the forthcoming book.

thirdly, just to say what a pleasure it is to have you contribute to my blog
Morning br_c,

I hope you’re well. Your silence is making me nervous. Thank you for your prayers. Goodness and sunshine is flooding back into me, plants are turning towards me for photosynthesis.

You’re a miracle worker man!
