Good tidings of comfort and joy

Last night was our annual All Saints Community Carol Service and it was a faestive firecracker of a show. The Carol Service was a culmination of a week long morning outreach to the commuters of Peckham Rye Station which is opposite the church, with members of the church serenading the commuters with carols whilst handing out candy canes inviting them to the carol service. This project has seen amazing fruit in the past and is a very exciting outreach project.
The carol service itself saw the church packed with something approaching 500 people. The choir raised the roof accompanied by a wonderful chamber orchestra and Frog our vicar preached his heart out. A particular highlight was seeing the choir perform a song which we had written ourselves declaring the reason why the angels sang at Christmas.
The week for me has been amazing but very draining and has also incorperated two weddings, a horrible bout of sickness, multiple rehersals and a near fatal miss for my guitar. But hey its all been worth the tiredness and early starts, just so the true meaning of Christmas can be thrown out  there for people to hear and understand for themselves, and the feastive season has only just begun....
It was brilliant, wasn't it? Very encouraging. Well done, Bill, but look after yourself.
We appreciate you!
We (the Price Tribe) all really enjoyed the service - it was great music, a great preach and fantastic that the church was full.

Next year Matthew wants to play his trombone in the chamber orchestra - seriously, he is getting good and with a year's practice should be able to play all the usual carols.
