Hello and a very warm welcome to you!
As you may have gathered from my name, I am German – and if you’d be speaking with me, I’d probably have already corrected your pronunciation of my name. Hehehe! (more like 'Ungelika' or 'ahn-GE-lee-kah'). I’m a minister of the Gospel and live in London, UK.
I left Germany a long time ago after having spent some time at the Uni in Mainz where I studied Anglistik, which is more or less English literature.
Academia, or teaching at a high school, wasn’t my thing at the time, much to the grief of my academic and scientist parents. Learning to play the flute, on the other hand, and hang out jamming with experimental jazz cats, both in London and Den Haag/Amsterdam, was definitely more appealing to me!
It was during a very traumatic time in Holland, in 1978, that I became a Christian and started on a new journey. The year after, I landed in Hong Kong with my then husband and my 7months old energy bundle, Titus-Emanuel.
Seven most delightful years in HK followed. Not only was my beautiful daughter, Charis, born there; but I also pioneered and pastored a small multicultural church/fellowship and ministry work.
Whilst out at HK, I was also blessed to get acquainted with Jackie Pullinger and her work. What a dynamic, amazing and powerful woman of God she is!!
My heart is still very much in Hong Kong. I still deeply miss the place!
Back in the UK, I continued my work in the ministry, became an ordained minister and served at a (then very large) church in London as an associate minister, and taught in various Bible schools/colleges.
Now, I serve on the itinerant level – pulpit, seminar/workshops, or consulting. I thoroughly enjoy the love and the fellowship at my church Chiswick Christian Centre in London, where the pastors, Phil and Caroline Whitehead are hot hot hot after the heart of God!
Due to the nature of God’s call on me, I went back to university to study psychology and business psychology. I am not a clinical psychologist, but a business psychologist working to assist leaders and their key people to be their very best.
My focus is relationships, both at work - in organisations, churches, ministries - and on the personal level.
I believe that harmonious relationships at home greatly enhance effectiveness at work.
Over the last year God has intensified my ministry direction regarding relationships to women and those who love them with practical solutions to problems caused by intimate relationship issues.
In quite a dramatic way He has shown me that the ministry, He has entrusted me with, is like a virtual café, a virtual ‘place’ from which He wants to revitalise dreams and visions of His loved ones to bring hope, healing and joy. It is a Dreams Café at the Journey of Intimacy - bliss and passion for Christ and each other.
...... more of my journey as it develops
