God, this sense of loss overwhelms me
Feeling far removed from your promises
All I hold dear, all I love, all I treasure

Home south, heart north
Vulnerable, delicate, uncertain, angry, disappointed
It’s been hard to hold on

This has been a trialing time
Still, you have held me close, gently led me by the hand
Through the unknown
To the other side of whatever all that was

I am aching, I am broken
I have learnt, I have grown

Growing pains are uncomfortable
Making room is painful
But you have so much more for me now
Than I could hold before

You’ve been building my capacity
My spiritual spine of steel

So I crossed the river to the promised land
Victorious not a victim
Still aching, still healing

More peace filled, more faith fuelled
More in love with you than I could ever imagine

You can’t prove love, you just know
Love unspoken, no words needed
I know your love in the sweetness of silence

No one could love me than you
Love is strong, love is tough
